WhatsApp users, you may soon get these new kinds of features

NEW DELHI: Instant messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly working on rolling out animated stickers to its platform. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the social media channel that tracks the changes and upcoming features on WhatsApp, the animated stickers feature is not yet available but is being tested on multiple operating system versions Android, iOS and Web.   As per the report, these animated stickers will be included in a stickers pack. “We can say the feature works very well, the support will be for third parties stickers too and it shouldn’t take a long time to be released for everyone,” said WABetaInfo.       To recall, Sticker support was rolled out in October 2018 for both iOS and Android users. WhatsApp offers 13 sets of Stickers including the pre-installed ones — Cuppy, Merry and Bright, Salty, Komo, Bibimbap Friends, Unchi & Rollie, Shiba Inu, The Maladroits, Koko, Hatch, Fearless and Fabulous, Banana and Biscuit.   Android users also get the option to download more stickers from Google Play Store by tapping on the ‘Get more Stickers’ option at the bottom of the list.Currently, users can access various sticker packs in WhatsApp application after they have downloaded packs from the Google Play Store and have to go through them to select one.   Earlier this week, it was reported this week that WhatsApp is working on a new feature to prevent users from taking a screenshot of chats for Android users, by creating a tradeoff between privacy and security. The ability to block screenshot feature will only go live when fingerprint authentication feature will arrive for Android users.     This means that if you have fingerprint authentication enabled, you won’t be able to be able to take screenshots of your chat windows. However, if the other person (with whom you are chatting) has switched off fingerprint lock then that person will be able to take screenshots
