Srinagar, May 23: The fierce encounter which broke out earlier between militants and government forces at Dadsara village in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday has entered into final stage as house where militants are trapped has caught fire.

A senior police officer told GNS that encounter is in final stage and the house has caught fire. Exchange of firing was going on till late evening, right now firing has stopped from both sides, the officer said.

As per the official sources no militant body has been recovered so far as the house was three storeyed and will take time to find militant bodies.

Earlier a police officer said that the cordon was laid following inputs about the presence of the militant commander of Ansar Gazwatul Hind Zakir Musa.

The joint team according to the officer tried to persuade the militant commander to surrender; however, he fired some UBGL grenades leading to an encounter.

The officer said that the encounter is still under way and Musa is changing locations in the three-storeyed building where he is hiding.

Meanwhile, authorities have snapped mobile internet services across south Kashmir, Central Kashmir and reduced speed elsewhere in Valley while schools and colleges have been ordered to be closed tomorrow.
Authorities have also announced restrictions in all sensitive parts of the Valley including old city and Tral.

Soon after the news starting to circulate on social about Musa being trapped in Tral, scores of youth took to streets and clashed with government forces in Down Town Srinagar, Tral and some other parts of Valley. (GNS)
