Situation will turn out of control if harassment of militant families continues: JRL
Srinagar: The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Miwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik on Thursday said harassing families of militants by the government forces will only worsen the situation and turn it out of control.
In a statement, the JRL while condemning the use of force by the authorities against the militant families, said, “Use of unbridled force against Kashmiri’s can only strengthens our resolve”.
The leadership said, “Arresting 70-year-old Assadullah Naikoo father of Reyaz Naikoo and two brothers of Lateef Tiger are acts of ‘pure revenge’ which can in no way deter Kashmiri’s from pursing the goal of freedom,” adding burning down the homes of two militants in Shopian district and arrest of Syed Shakeel, the second son of Syed Salahudin is condemnable in all forms.
“The sacrifices offered by each segment of society and their unflinchingly support and dedication to the principled cause sends a strong message to New Delhi,” the JRL said.
Meanwhile, the leadership paid rich tributes to militant’s killed in an encounter at Hajin in Bandipora.
Thanking the people of J&K for observing shutdown against the attempts to abrogate Article 35A, the leadership said that people will immediately hit the streets in protest in case of any adverse judgment by the Supreme Court.
