Shopian in south Kashmir shuts against militant killings
A complete shutdown is being observed today in south Kashmir’s Shopian district to mourn the killing of four local militants in a gunfight in Nadigam village on Tuesday.
All the shops, business establishments and educational institutes are shut while the traffic is sparse on the roads.
Four Hizb ul Mujahideen militants were killed on Tuesday in Nadigam village, some four kilometers from the main town Shopian.
A para commando was also killed and three soldiers suffered injuries during the gunfight.
At least ten civilians, including three girls, were injured in clashes with the government forces soon after the gunfight.
