Search Operation Sparks Clashes in Restive Hajin Town of North Kashmir

Bandipora, June 22: Clashes erupt in Hajin town of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district after Government Forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation after getting inputs about the presence of militants.

Reports said that 13 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army and Special Operation Group of Jammu Kashmir Police laid a siege around Tawheed Mohalla and Parray Mohalla after a tip off about the movement of militants.

During the search operation, locals hit to roads and clashed with Government Forces who retaliated with tear-smoke shells.

SSP Banipora Sheikh Zulifkar Azad said that it was a casual search operation.(CNS)
