Salahuddin’s sons arrests to break his conviction: Sehraie
Srinagar, Sep 4: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehraie on Tuesday said arresting the sons of Syed Salahuddin is a vain attempt to break and weaken the UJC chief’s commitment and conviction towards the movement.
In a statement issued to GNS, Sehraie said such “cowardly suppressive measures” could not dampen the passion and commitment of Salahuddin and pro-freedom leadership.
“Syed Salahuddin is a prominent figure in the ongoing freedom movement and has dedicated his whole life for the sacred cause. He left his family 3 decades back to serve the nation,” he said.
TeH chairman strongly condemned the arrest of Syed Shakeel Ahmad and Syed Shahid Yousuf, sons of UJC chief Syed Salahuddin, and termed the move “a desperate attempt on part of India to cow down the pro-freedom leadership”.
“His (Salahuddin’s) two sons have no affiliation with any of the political party and both are performing their professional duties in their respective fields; so targeting them on the basis of being sons of Salahuddin is ridiculous,” Sehraie said.
“NIA has been shamelessly used to make failed attempt character assassination of pro-freedom leadership and they have gone to the extent to fabricate their kiths and kin in fake cases,” he added. (GNS)
