Railways engineer arrested for accepting bribe of Rs 5 lakh
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an executive engineer of the North Central Railways in Agra, Uttar Pradesh for accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh.
A complaint was first lodged against the engineer after he demanded a bribe of Rs 19 lakh for making changes in the MB of the railway work being undertaken by him and for subsequently processing his payment.
The CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed at Agra while accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh as a first instalment from the complainant.
The accused is being produced today before a designated court.
