Pulwama in south Kashmir shuts against militant killings, internet services suspended
Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday following the killing of two local Hizbul Mujahideen militants in a gunfight with government forces at Shar Shali area of Pampore.
Internet services have also been shut in the district
The slain militants include top commander Adil Ahmad Bhat of Malangpora Awantipora and Adnan Ahmad of Brahbandina Awantipora.
Eyewitnesses told Kashmir Reader that complete shutdown is being observed in Pampore, Shar Shali, Khrew, Awantipora, Tral and Pulwama towns.
All the shops and other bussiness establishments are closed in Pulwama district while public transport is mostly off the roads.
A police officer told Kashmir Reader that the bodies of the two slain Hizb militants have been handed over to their families.
