Pulwama civilian killings flagrant violation of human rights: Mehmood Sagar
Terming the civilian killings in Pulwama as a ‘flagrant violation of the human rights’ the senior vice president of Democratic Freedom Party Mehmood Ahmed Saghar has said that the ‘ruthless killings of unarmed and innocent people have unveiled the brutal face of New Delhi.’
In a statement the DFP leader while expressing concern over the recent wave of violence in Kashmir said that the grim situation in Kashmir merits urgent attention of the international community.
Calling for an independent international probe into the incident, he said, “It is high time that the United Nations must intervene and establish a commission of inquiry to stop oppression in the region”.
He said that International community’s indifference towards the grim situation of Kashmir had given a ‘sense of impunity to forces to commit more human rights violations in the region.’
Urging the UN secretary general to take stock of the worsening human rights situation in Kashmir Saghar said that being custodian of United Nations the general secretary should use his influence to protect the people of Kashmir from the “repression of forces.”
