Pre-dawn raids intensify across Pulwama; 30 youths arrested from Tahab village
Srinagar: Government forces have arrested at least 30 youths during pre-dawn raids raids in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports said that the government forces raided Tahab and other neighbouring villages during the dead of the night.
They said that the forces arrested atleast 30 youth and detained them in police stations. Some of the arrested yoth have been identified as Ashiq Ganie, Ashiq Ahmed Sheikh, Nisar Sheikh, Naseer Wani, Javid Rather, Javed Mushtaq, Asif Dar, Aadil Dar, Naseer Wani, Abid Dar, Javid Baba, Khurshid Liyakat, Hilal Ahmed Sheikh and Rouf Ahmed Dar.’
Earlier, reports said that the forces also raided some villages of Shopian district and detained over a dozen youths.
During the past one week dozens of youth have been detained in the twin districts. The arrests have come ahead of the parliamentary polls in the twin districts scheduled on May 6.
