Series of attacks, raids in southern parts created panic among the families of forces personnel
Srinagar, Aug 22: Police on Wednesday evening said that the militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen are involved in police officer’s killing in Pulwama village of south Kashmir.
“Militants today evening barged inside the residential house of Inspector Mohd Asharf Dar at Larve Pulwama and fired upon him,” a police spokesman in a statement said.
In the incident, Mohd Ashraf sustained critical bullet injuries and succumbed to his injuries, the spokesman said.
Initial investigation establishes complicity of HM militant outfit in the case, he said.
“We condemn these acts of cowardice by militants involving attacks on police officials,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, sources said that militants barged inside the residential house of two more police officers in Anantnag and Shopian of south Kashmir.
Late today evening unknown militants barged inside a residential house of a police officer at Srigufara, Anantnag, however he was not present at home.
Similarly, militants barged inside the residential house of another police officer Dilbar Ahmad (ASI) at Diaroo Kellar, Shopian and fired upon him, however, the officer escaped unhurt.
The series of attacks and raids that left so far a BJP leader and three policemen dead including the police Inspector have created panic among the families of forces personnel in the entire south Kashmir. (GNS)
