One more setback for PDP as Mufti’s close aide to join NC
Srinagar: PDP is set to get one more setback as its senior leader and close aide of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Peer Mohammad Hussain, will be joining National Conference tomorrow, KNS reported.
Hussain had left PDP soon after he was forced to put in his papers by former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti as vice chairman Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board in 2017.
The founder PDP member and once considered as close confidante of former Chief Minister late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Peer Hussain was appointed vice chairman of the Waqf Board in 2015.
Earlier this year, Mehbooba Mufti led government terminated services of senior Hussain’s son, Hashim Hussain, as additional advocate general following his scathing criticism of the unpopular coalition government.
A former minister in the maiden PDP coalition with the Congress, Peer Hussain gave up the constituency to make way for his son-in-law Peerzada Mansoor Hussain in the 2008 elections.
