Omar Abdullah in Shopian says will repeal PSA if NC voted to power
Srinagar: Ahead of third and final phase of staggered polls for Anantnag parliamentary seat here, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that his party would scrap the controversial Public Safety Act (PSA) if voted to power.
Omar was addressing a political rally organized at Circuit House in restive Shopian district, where voting is scheduled on May 6.
Former CM said elections are generally contested for the development, but this time election was being fought for the protection of the special identity of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We are fighting them for safeguarding of Article 370 and 35 A,” said Abdullah.
