No Fathers in Kashmir battles Censor Board for a U/A
Every year there’s a film in Bollywood which comes under the CBFC (Censor Board of Film Certification)scanner and this time it’s Ashvin Kumar’s No Fathers in Kashmir. Ashvin Kumar is a 2 time national award winnerand an oscar nominee. His film No Fathers in Kashmir is currently facing a battle with CBFC for theright certification. Th borad has granted an A Certificate to the film for which Ashvin isn’tconvinced. “The A certificate violates the fundamental rights of our core audience of youth, denying them a chance to know what is happening in their country, in their own name. It deniesthe possibility of dialogue between the youth of Kashmir and that of the rest of India.
It is only through dialogue that any peaceful solution can be found. It is only through telling thetruth that a dialogue is possible in the first place”, Kumar had said in a statement, reports The New Indian Express.
We saw that it received an immense support from celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Swara Bhaskar, Soni Razdan and Shashi Tharoor. It’s only destiny that will have the last say on this film which we feel is innocent enough to get at least a U/A if not U certificate.
“No Fathers in Kashmir” is a love story between two 16-year-olds whose fathers have disappeared inKashmir with no certainty of their return.” The film was not able to qualify for national awards this year. It’s only destiny who will have the last say on this film which wefeel is innocent enough to get at least a U/A if not U certificate.
