The men, who lived in the same neighbourhood, befriended the girl. Weeks later, the 16-year-old girl was kidnapped, confined and raped by three men in an undisclosed location for 51 days.
A 16 year-old girl was allegedly raped by three men who confined her in an undisclosed location for 51 days.
The girl was taken to the place by two of the men who stayed in her neighbourhood in Mamura, reported The Times of India.
After being raped and tortured for over 50 days, the survivor finally managed to escape and inform her parents about the ordeal.
Family members of the survivor alleged that the police had repeatedly refused to lodge a complaint. However, an FIR was registered after the family approached the Superintendent of Police Crime.
According to the police, the girl, who is illiterate, could not remember where she was kept but recalled the name of two of the accused.
According to the complaint filed by the girl’s father, who is a factory worker, two of the accused — Chotu, a native of Chatarpur in Madhya Pradesh, and Suraj haling from Mahoba – visited their house and befriended the girl in the first week of March.
“They kidnapped the girl and kept her confined in a room, where she was raped between March 2 and April 22. They had even threatened to kill her if she tried to flee. In their absence, the girl would be assaulted by Aditya, a resident of Sector 135,” the complaint said, as reported by The Times of India.
The girl managed to escape the spot on April 22.
The father said in the complaint, “She arrived in a dishevelled situation and narrated her ordeal to us. We then reached out to Phase III police and asked them to lodge a complaint and get her medical test done, but the police just made us sign a paper. Later, no information was given to us and there was no headway in the probe.”
On April 30, an FIR was lodged under IPC sections 376 d (gangrape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 3/4 of the POCSO Act against all the three accused at the Phase III police station when the girl’s father gave a written complaint to Gautam Budh Nagar SP (crime). A medical test was conducted on Tuesday.
“We have lodged an FIR. The girl’s statements will soon be recorded under CrPC 164,” Phase III SHO Akhilesh Tripathi said.
