Militants on Monday night fired at the army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles camp in Mandoora hamlet of Tral township in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said.
Superintendent of police Awantipora Mohammad Zahid Malik told Greater Kashmir that militants fired towards army camp in Mandoora at 10:20 PM on Monday.
The army soldiers on duty, he said, retaliated to the fire, leading to a brief exchange of fire.
There was no immediate report of any injuries or fatal casualties in the attack.
Reinforcements were rushed to the spot to nab the assailants, said an official.
