Mehbooba protests in Pulwama over suspension of LoC trade, demands release of JKLF chief

Srinagar: Ahead of second phase of staggered polls for the Anantnag parliamentary seat scheduled on 29th of this month, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti led a protest march in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the suspension of Cross-LoC trade.

Mehbooba while leading the rally also sought immediate release of JKLF chief Yasin Malik and revocation of ban on Jamaat-e-Islami.

Reports said she also sought an end to two-day ban on highway for civilian movement in Kashmir.

The protest march was taken from Town hall Pulwama to Deputy Commissioner’s office, in which scores of PDP workers participated.
