Massive gathering take part in slain militant’s funeral in south Kashmir

Srinagar: Massive gathering was present on Monday to take part in funeral prayers of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Shakoor Ahmad Dar at his native village in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Shakoor a resident of Sopat-Tangpora, village was later laid to rest amid high pitched sloganeering.

Earlier many rounds of funeral prayers were offered for Sahkoor to accommodate the large number of people who had started marching towards the village since very early today.

Many militants also surfaced during the funeral and offered a gun-salute to their fallen associate, witnesses said.

Shakoor was killed along with another militant during a gunfight with the government forces in Cheddar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district last evening. A civilian was also killed in the village during clashes with forces.
