Kashmiri pandit yatra from Delhi to Srinagar: Govt decides to bear all expenses
Srinagar, June 14,: A Kashmiri Pandit organization ‘Kalhan Society’ has decided to start Zysetha Asthami yatra from New Delhi on June 18 that will culminate in Srinagar June 20 and its final destination will be Khirbhawani temple located in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
The Coordinator of the Yatra, Satish Mahaldar told news agency CNS that Kashmiri Pandits are eager to return to Kashmir Valley while Government of Jammu and Kashmir can play a key role in this regard. He said thousands of Kashmiri Pandits living in different parts of India will assemble at Khirbhawani temple Tulmulla on June 20.
He hailed Jammu Kashmir Government for providing them free to and fro transport from New Delhi to Srinagar and making special arrangements for pilgrims. “All the expenses incurred on Yatra will be borne by the state government,” he said.
“This measure has been taken up by Government to facilitate smooth return of Pandits to Valley,” he said. (CNS)
