India, Pakistan armies exchange gunfire along LOC in J&K’s Poonch

Jammu: The armies of India and Pakistan shelled forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

“Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling mortars and firing small arms along the LoC in Mankote and Krishna Gati sectors from 0750 hours,” a Defence spokesman said.

He said the Army was retaliating befittingly and there was no report of any casualty on the Indian side in the cross-border firing which was still continuing when last reports were received.
