Hosts Real Kashmir FC will be taking on resurgent Aizawl FC in another home tie of I-League at TRC Turf Ground here on Wednesday.
The Mizoram-based former champions will be taking on hosts Real Kashmir in front of expected full house after having defeated East Bengal in their last outing. Aizawl FC had a slow start to the league this season, suffering two defeats and registering three draws before going on to win last match against inform side East Bengal by 3-2. Aizawl FC would like to carry on the momentum and beat Real Kashmir on their home turf on Wednesday.
On the other hand, Real Kashmir has also been able to register its first home win league in its last match against Indian Arrows. The home side will like to take full advantage of the conditions and home support to push resurgent Aizawl FC back into bottom of the table from the current number nine position.
The match would be a tussle between Aizawl FC known for attacking football and Real Kashmir who have so far got best defense in entire league. Real Kashmir has so far conceded only three goals in the five matches played, which is lowest in the league.
After being under pressure for not being able to notch up win despite playing well in all the games played at home, Real Kashmir coach David Robertson would be a relieved man after seeing his team beat Indian arrows in its last game. The pressure of earning first win on home soil is now gone and coach would be hoping that there will be no more misfiring from his frontline against Aizawl FC.
The tactical moves made by Real Kashmir worked in last match against Arrows as they went on to score two goals and register win. The coach used Mason Robertson as a second striker alongside Gnohere Krizo and it will be interesting to find out if he sticks to that strategy against Aizawl as well.
For Aizawl all eyes will be on the striking duo of Ansumana Kromah and Leonce Dodoz. The duo had excellent game against East Bengal and much will depend on their performance. They will not find it an easy task against hosts Real Kashmir.
Aizawl skipper Alfred Jaryan and David Lalrinmuana will be tasked to control the midfield against the likes of Real Kashmir’s Bazie Armand and Aaron Katebe. The versatility of Real Kashmir makes them dangerous with coach having options of using Danish Farooq, Mason, Bazie, Katebe, Hammad in different roles and change gears at any moment of time.
Real Kashmir has so far played five matches in the league in which it has been able to win two. They have suffered two home defeats and were held to draw in one. As against this, Aizawl has played six matches in which it has registered win in just one while as they have suffered defeat in two. They have been held to draw in three.
At present, Real Kashmir FC with seven points stand 7th on the points table, while as Aizawl stand at ninth place with six points.
