Gunfight underway in Panzan village of central Kashmir’s Budgam
A gunfight between the militants and the government forces is underway in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official said that the gunfight broke out early Thursday morning after forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Panzan village of the district.
He said that the hiding militants opened fire on the forces during the operation, triggering a gunfight.
There were no reports of casualties so far, he said.
In another gunfight in Dooru village of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, a top LeT commander and a soldier were killed while a civilian was killed during a CASO in Qamarwari area of Srinagar.
Authorities have suspended Internet services in Srinagar and adjoining areas as a precautionary measure, said the official.
