Family of pregnant woman in snowbound Keran calls for urgent help
The family of a pregnant woman from Keran advised to seek urgent medical care in Kupwara on Wednesday evening appealed to the authorities to help in their journey in view of closure of Keran-Kupwara road.
Parveena, who is currently being carried on their shoulders by her relatives as they make their journey amid frosty weather towards Kupwara, was earlier in the day taken to Public Health Centre (PHC) Keran.
At PHC Kupwara, Parveena was referred to sub-district hospital Kupwara for specialized treatment, said a relative.
“The ambulance recently donated to PHC Keran is at Kupwara and the road is closed due to snow,” said Mohammad Shafiq who is accompanying Parveena to Kupwara.
When he last spoke to Greater Kashmir, Fazeer Ahmad Lone, the woman’s husband said they had reached an area, located an hour away from Farkien Top. “It will take us couple of hours to reach Kupwara from Farkien,” he said.
Lone appealed to the authorities to help them in “this tragic situation” and “help us in saving the life of my wife whose condition is deteriorating with time”.
