Curfew, internet shut down continues for second day in Kishtwar; Police constitute SIT, 10 suspects arrested
Kishtwar: Curfew continued for the second consecutive day on Wednesday in Kishtwar town of Jammu and Kashmir following the killing of an RSS leader and his PSO in an attack on Tuesday. Army carried a flag march while internet services remained suspended.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and arrested ten suspected persons, including a hospital employee, in connection with the case.
Official sources said that a five-member SIT has been constituted, headed by DSP Headquarter Kishtwar, to probe the incident.
RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma was killed inside the premises of District Hospital Kishtwar where he was working as a medical assistant at hospital’s out-patient (OPD) department. His PSO Rajinder Kumar was also killed while his service rifle was decamped by the gunmen.
