Civilian wounded in Awantipora grenade blast dies

Srinagar: A civilian who was injured in a grenade blast in south Kashmir Awantipora succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Srinagar.

70-year-old Abdul Ahad Pinchoo passed away at the SMHS hospital in the capital of Srinagar this evening, where he was shifted after being critically wounded in Awantipora grenade blast this afternoon, a senior police official told Kashmir Reader.

Suspected militants this afternoon tossed a grenade towards the Police Station Awantipora. However, it missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside injuring Pinchoo and another passerby.
