Srinagar: Dagger division along with Home and Hearth Battalion organised an Iftaar Party for differently abled children in Baramulla, an army spokesman told Global Kashmir.
Major General Gulab Singh Rawat, General Officer Commanding(GOC) Dagger Division graced the occasion and was accompanied by Commander Dagger Arty Brigade, Chairman Baramulla Red cross society and Secretary J&K humanitarian Aid, the spokesman said.
The aim of Iftaar party was to reach out to all sections of society and spread the message of love, compassion and brotherhood in the true spirit of Islam and Ramzan, the spokesman said.
Around 50 visually challenged children of Blind School Northern Federation of Blind Kashmir (Kanispora) along with staff and other members celebrated Iftaar with dates and fruits, the spokesman said.
GOC interacted with children and expressed his love and showered his blessings on them, the spokesman said.
He then presented gifts to children and appreciated the noble work done by the school and their staff, the spokesman said.
Everyone then joined to offer “Nimaz”, The children were then invited for a sumptuous meal, the spokesman added.
