2 youth sustained bullet injuries during clashes,hospitalized
Srinagar, June 28 (GNS): Six youth sustained injuries, two of them due to bullets, during clashes near the encounter site at Gund Checkpora Kanipora Nowgam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday, reports said.
Reports reaching GNS said that the youth took to streets and clashed with the government forces near the encounter site and its adjoining areas including Khanpora Nowgam. The police and paramilitary CRPF used pellets, tear smoke shells and some live ammunition to disperse them resulting in injuries to seven youths, two of them with bullet and as many with pellets.
The bullet wounded injured were identified as Shabir Ahmad (30) son of Mohammad Ashraf of Chakapora and Kanapora, Mushtaq Ahmad (23). Among two pellet injured, one youth was identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat (22) of Gund Checkpora. All were admitted at SMHS hospital here.
According to doctors, Shabir had sustained bullet wound in his lower abdomen, and Mushtaq had “superficial” bullet injury in his head. The doctor said that the condition of Shabir “was not well”.
Earlier, a militant was killed in the gunfight that broke out during pre-dawn at Gund Checkpora, Kanipora, Nowgam. (GNS)
