Two girls from Maharashtra completed their cycle trip from Jammu & Kashmir to Kanyakumari via 9 states in 35 days
19-year-old Sayli Maharao from Thane and 23-year-old Pooja Budhawale from Pune finished their journey in Karnataka on January 3.
Both the girls, who stayed at 30 spots during the course of their journey, pedalled 100-120km daily. They addressed girl students at different locations and shared their cycling experiences as to how they braved all types of weather – from freezing cold of Jammu & Kashmir, dense fog in Punjab, haryana and UP to Ockhi cyclone in Tamil Nadu.
Pooja has a Diploma in Tour & travel while Sayali is pursuing graduation from Shahu College in Pune. Upon their arrival in Mumbai on Thursday, the duo was welcomed by locals with drums and music. Sayali told Manish Jha from Nav Bharat Times that her Trip has a social message of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
Before the start of their journey, they both pedalled 60-70 km daily.
