- The longest dry spells in the past couple of decades were witnessed in 2016 and 2017.
J&K News Service: The long dry spell in Jammu and Kashmir finally ended After a long period of time in Kashmir valley, Kashmir region received its longest awaited rainfall during the night hours of wednesday/thursday, as earlier weatherman expected rains in Kashmir.
“There have been dry spells in the past too but not long like this. Another important thing is that there is an increasing trend in the dry spells and this year the trend continued,” Lotus Said.
- According to weatherman there due to the cloud cover hovering over most parts of the valley, light to moderate rain is expected in the next 24 to 48 hours.
- The expected rainfall would end the prevalent dry spell in the valley which has given rise to ailments like cough and common cold.
