Jharkhand vs Jammu and Kashmir, Jamshedpur
Skipper Parvez Rasool and Aamir Aziz Sofi starred with five-fers as Jammu and Kashmir ended their three-match losing streak with a morale-boosting 106-run victory over their fancied opponents, Jharkhand. Resuming from their overnight score of 246 for 7, the visitors declared early on the fourth morning, setting the home side a stiff target of 350 in little under three sessions.
Jharkhand started positively with a 87-run stand between the openers Ishan Kishan and Nazim Siddiqui before Rasool and Sofi sprang into action. The duo triggered a mini collapse, picking up three wickets apiece as the home side slipped from 87 for no loss to 144 for 6 in the space of 15 overs. Shahbaaz Nadeem then combined with Utkarsh Rajiv Singh for a reassuring 76-run partnership but once the duo fell, the J&K pair wiped off the tail in quick succession to register their individual fifers, restrict the hosts to 243 in their second innings and, in the process, script the first outright win for their side.
