The Army on Sunday credited its “strong intelligence network” behind the killing of a number of militants in past few months.
Addressing a news conference, Lt Gen Satish Dua, GOC of Srinagar-based 15 Corps, on Sunday said that army received at least 600 inputs of militant infiltrations in the past year.
“Almost all these bids were foiled by the army,” said Dua.
Beacause of its strong intellegence, he said, the militants were being eliminiated at the LoC or just inside the line.
“Five militants killed in Chowkibal (yesterday) were part of Lashkar-e-Toiba and we are analysing whether the group had recently infiltrated or they were operating here for some time,” he said.
The GoC claimed that Jaish-e-Muhammad militant outfit has been wiped out of Kashmir in November last year with the killing of Adil Pathan.
